Pre-Nursing Scholarships

Hello Pre-Nursing students!

I’m happy to inform you that applications for the Pre-Nursing Scholarships are now available for pick-up in my office. There are two scholarships available for the 2012-2013 academic year. To be eligible for these scholarships, you must be a freshman or sophomore University of Montana Pre-Nursing student in good academic standing. You can swing by my office in Lommasson 286 Monday through Thursday 8:00-4:00 or Friday 8:00-3:00 to get an application.

Applications must be postmarked by Friday, April 13, 2012. Students will be notified by letter whether or not they received a scholarship after May 4^th.

2012-2013 Pre-Nursing Scholarships:

RUTH E. BENNETT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP ($400)

The Ruth E. Bennett Memorial Scholarship was established in 1998 by Paul D. Bennett and Thomas A. Bennett in memory of Ruth, who was Paul’s mother and Thomas’ wife.  The Ruth E. Bennett Memorial Scholarship recipient will be a University of Montana Pre-Nursing student to be chosen on the basis of good academic progress.  The recipient will be awarded $200 per semester for the fall 2012/spring 2013 school year.

MARY L. COBB MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP ($2000)

This scholarship was established in 2010 in memory of Mary L. Cobb to be awarded to deserving University of Montana students enrolled in the Pre-Nursing program.  The recipient must have graduated from a Montana high school, with preference being given to students from the Augusta, Cut Bank or Kalispell areas.  This scholarship may be received more than once, provided the student reapplies for the award each year.  The recipient will be awarded $1,000 per semester for the fall 2012/spring 2013 school year.

MSU Upper Division Placement Applications for Spring 2013 Now Available

The deadline for submission is January 3, 2012.

Spring 2012 Advising and Registration

Pre-Nursing advising for Spring 2012 begins on Monday, October 10 and priority course registration is October 24 – November 4.

To schedule your advising appointment with Tami Breske (Pre-nursing advisor)  CLICK HERE   Many of you will be returning users, so please enter your login and password information rather than re-registering to avoid duplicate records.

MSU Nursing: August Application Change

BREAKING NEWS…… MSU Nursing August Application Change!!!

MSU’s College of Nursing has decided that students who apply to their program during the August application WILL be able to complete the Lower Division Nursing courses in MISSOULA during Spring Semester 2012 as long as they have at least 8 students interested (which they almost certainly will).

If you had decided to wait to apply until January because of the inability to go to Bozeman for the lower division nursing courses during spring semester you may want to reconsider. Going to Bozeman during Spring 2012 for the lower divising nursing courses may no longer be required.

MSU Nursing Applications Now Available

The application to Montana State University’s College of Nursing BSN program is now available on the MSU website:

This application is for students to begin the upper division nursing courses during fall semester 2012. The lower division nursing courses will be completed during spring semester 2012 on the MSU-Bozeman campus.  The application deadline is August 1, 2011.

2011-2012 Pre-Nursing Scholarships

The following three scholarships are available for the 2011-2012 academic year for freshman or sophomore level University of Montana students in good academic standing who are majoring in Pre-Nursing.   Application packets are available in the Pre-Nursing Advising Office (Lommasson Center 286) and are due April 15, 2011.  Contact Tami Breske at tami.breske@mso.umt.edu with questions.

STOLL FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP ($1000)

This scholarship was established in memory of Gertrude Cope Stoll, Rudy (Skip) Stoll and Theresa M. Stoll-Sholey in 1990 and is to be awarded on a rotating basis to deserving students enrolled in The University of Montana Pre-Nursing and Pharmacy programs.  The scholarship for the 2011-2012 academic year is to be awarded to a Pre-Nursing student in memory of Gertrude Cope Stoll.  The recipient will be awarded $500 per semester for the fall 2011/spring 2012 school year.
